Michael’s Comments - March 2023
I hope this newsletter edition finds you and your family safe and well after an extraordinary last six weeks.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has lost a loved one, lost their homes or their livelihoods as a result of the cyclone.
Largely due to our reliance on the primary sector, our region performed relatively well during the last two years of COVID disruption. Now sadly, it’s this same industry that has been most impacted by the cyclone and will take some time to recover.
Amongst all of the recent adversity it’s been particularly heart-warming to see communities come together – people are demonstrating incredible resilience coupled with a genuine desire to help and support each other.
However, over the coming months as our region continues to rebuild, personal resilience and financial situations may become quite pressured. In uncertain times, knowledge is power, concerns need to be addressed quickly and changes may need to be implemented for immediate and long-term financial benefits. Please get in touch if we can help.
We will continue to work alongside clients who have been negatively impacted to help you navigate these challenging times and look for opportunities for your business.
We have included some links to cyclone relief options later in this newsletter. Please also check our Facebook and LinkedIn pages as we will continue to update clients about any financial grants and support offered by the Government.
A gentle reminder - as it’s the end of your financial year on Friday we’ve included a checklist below to help you prepare for this.
We’ve also included a link to Xero’s blog about “Four ways Kiwi small business can hit refresh for FY24”.
Our congratulations go out to Patrick Crawshaw and we wish him all the very best when he competes for the national title in the FMG Young Farmer of the Year in July. Click HERE to watch his recent interview on Seven Sharp.
Our office will be closing for the Easter break at 5pm on Thursday 6th April and re-opening at 8.30am on Wednesday 12th April. For any urgent enquiries, we have an answer service available on (06) 876 8124. Please leave a message and one of our team will be in touch.
Take care and we wish you and your family a peaceful Easter break.
