Wage Subsidy Scheme and Resurgence Support Payment

Applications for the third COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021, known as Wage Subsidy 2021 #3, are open for two weeks between 17 September and 11.59pm, 30 September 2021.

If you have applied for a previous COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021, you need to wait until two weeks after you’ve applied before applying for the Wage Subsidy August 2021 #3.   Please note that if you apply earlier than this, your application for the new subsidy will be declined.

The Government recently announced a second payment of the Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) for the alert level increase that started on 17 August.  Businesses and organisations will be able to apply for the second payment even if they have received the first one.  Applications for both RSPs will remain open until one month after the whole of New Zealand returns to alert level 1.

The Wage Subsidy Scheme helps eligible businesses pay wages, whereas the Resurgence Support Payment helps with expenses like rent. 

Remember that your business can apply for and receive both payments at the same time if you meet the eligibility criteria.
